TEN REASONS WHY GREAT FATHERS ARE LOVED AND ADMIRED

On June 20, Father's Day will be celebrated by many to honour fathers' significant contributions in raising their children. Children are the greatest gifts from God. But Pope John XXIII said, "It is easier for a father to have children than for children to have a real father." Great fathers earn their children's love, affection, and respect by being responsible and committed fathers.

1. DEVOTED FATHERS LOVE THEIR CHILDREN AND TAKE CARE OF THEM.

Fathers display their love in ongoing care, compassion, help, and friendship. A father is a son's first hero and a daughter's first love. A father's abundant unconditional love makes the children feel precious and develops their self-esteem, self-worth, and confidence. The best things in life that a good father gives to his children are his time, care, and love.

2. DEDICATED FATHERS PROVIDE ALL THE NECESSITIES FOR THEIR CHILDREN

Fathers provide food, clothing, shelter, and all the other necessities of life until the child leaves the family home. Fathers are also automated teller machines (ATMs). According to a French saying, "A father is a banker provided by nature." Steve Martin humorously confirmed, "A father carries pictures where his money used to be."

3. RESPONSIBLE FATHERS ARE TEACHERS, GUIDES, AND MENTORS

Fathers are coaches who teach their children life skills and train them to meet life's challenges successfully. As friends and mentors, they guide their children to stay fit physically and mentally, develop good study and work habits, and take calculated risks. George Herbert rightly said, "One father is more than a hundred schoolmasters."

4. NOBLE FATHERS TEACH NOBLE VALUES

Fathers teach their children to distinguish between right and wrong, do the right things, and abstain from doing the wrong things. They teach their children the ideal qualities of honesty, integrity, compassion, generosity, caring, and sharing, because noble values are the only things that endure.

5. SMART FATHERS TEACH BY EXAMPLE

They are role models of good fathers, good husbands, good brothers, and good sons; their children admire them and want to be like them. To teach children in the way they should go, fathers lead by example. There is a grain of truth in the German saying, "An apple doesn't usually fall far from a tree."

6. INSPIRING FATHERS ENCOURAGE AND MOTIVATE THEIR CHILDREN TO SOAR

Fathers encourage their children by recognizing and praising their efforts and achievements. Intelligent fathers do not put the pressure of unrealistic expectations and goals on their children. They guide the children in their educational and career plans according to the interest and aptitude of the children. Great achievers have inspiring fathers.

7. LOVING FATHERS DISCIPLINE THEIR CHILDREN WITH LOVE.

Even though both mothers and fathers impose the limits and boundaries of the expected good behaviour, fathers are generally responsible for disciplining the children. Loving fathers spare the rod and spare the child. Their discipline is motivated by the desire to teach their children about acceptable and unacceptable thought, speech, and behaviour.

8. VIGILANT FATHERS ARE PROTECTORS AND STRENGTH OF THEIR CHILDREN

They protect their children and their whole family unit. Fathers protect their children not only from physical harm but also from all other kinds of harm, including psychological abuse within the home or outside the home. Fathers also street-proof their children by making them street-smart. Fathers are pillars of strength for their children.

9. DYNAMIC FATHERS RAISE DYNAMIC DAUGHTERS

Equalitarian fathers do not discriminate between sons and daughters. They teach their daughters to value themselves and encourage them to follow their dreams. Caring fathers protect their daughters like a bodyguard. American actress Liza Minnelli said, "My mother gave me my drive, but my father gave me my dreams. Thanks to him, I could see a future."

10. IDEAL FATHERS ARE ALSO IDEAL HUSBANDS.

Responsible fathers also love and respect their wives and focus on their families. They share parenting as a father-mother team. A boy whose father loves and respects his mother respects, women, when he grows up. A girl whose father loves and respects her mother acquires high self-esteem and confidence. She expects to be treated by everyone with respect and equality. Endearing fathers are anchors of their families.

GREAT FATHERS ARE ADMIRED, APPRECIATED, AND GRATEFULLY REMEMBERED

Awesome fathers raise fantastic children. Therefore, even when they grow old, children cherish the memories of their fathers with love and pride. They look up to their fathers no matter how tall they grow because fathers are their heroes and role models. Having a caring and loving father is one of the greatest blessings.

WISHING ALL GREAT FATHERS A VERY HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!
